World Cup: Never seen such a fast player - Wilshere names Senegal star to hurt England

Former England and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has named a Senegal star who could hurt the Three Lions in their World Cup knockout tie on Sunday.

England are widely expected to beat Senegal and qualify for the quarter-finals in Qatar.

But Wilshere warns England must not be complacent about their West African opposition.

Without their talisman Sadio Mane, Ismaila Sarr managed to lead the team through to the knockout stages of the competition and they face their biggest challenge against the European giants on Sunday.

Sarr scored a penalty in the crucial win over Ecuador and the 24-year-old is not new to England, having played his club football at Watford in the Premier League and Championship since 2019.

"I have a friend who was a masseur at Watford where Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr plays," Wilshere told The Sun.

"He says he has never seen someone as fast as Sarr. He has also improved a lot technically, which is why a lot of Premier League teams love him.

"He's definitely the one we'll have to watch out for on the counterattack."
