World Cup: Super Falcons fit, spirit, says captain Ebi

As the FIFA Women's World Cup approaches, Nigeria's national women's football team, the Super Falcons, are facing reports of infighting, dissatisfaction and even threats to boycott their opening game.

However, team captain Onome Ebi dismissed the claims and reassured fans that there was no cause for alarm.

Responding to rumors of a possible boycott over bonus issues, Ebi, 40, categorically denied such plans.

She reiterated the team's commitment to proudly representing her country in Australia/New Zealand.

Reports on some media platforms had suggested that the Falcons were considering boycotting their World Cup opener after Football Federation of Nigeria General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi allegedly informed them that their match bonuses for the competition had been cancelled.
