YG salutes Nipsey Hussle's day, wishes the rapper is always with us

Nipsey Hussle received a ton of love on what would have been his 37th birthday, an honorable gesture...but YG wishes the rapper could have seen the honor for himself.

TMZ Hip Hop met YG at Nip's Hollywood Star unveiling, which also included announcing August 15 as Nipsey Hussle Day in Los Angeles.

The Compton rap superstar acknowledged the amount of love Nip has received is more than justified, given he was a leader for so many he touched, but says he would anything to bring Nip back to earth.

YG and Nip were as big as thieves on many levels. Together, they set positive examples within LA's gang culture while collaborating on several hip-hop staples, including "Last Time That I Checc'd" from Nip's "Victory Lap" album.

YG has kept The Marathon in its own right since Nips' death...having expanded its portfolio into its own fashion house and signed a joint venture deal with Epic Records and its own 4Hunnid Records to allow its artists Day Sulan and D3 to get solo shine.

These days, YG is having fun with music - and videos these days.

Just check out her new "Toxic" video with social media star and ex-Washington PJ flame Brittany Renner. The comedy clip is just the latest musical novelty according to YG.

Nip would definitely be proud of his friend.
