Kazeem said: "The activities of certain groups of people claiming to promote the interests of the North and Nigeria, but in fact working for enemies of the country have been noticed. These people have continued to falsely accuse and demand the resignation and dismissal of the boss of INEC for the execution of his mandate. We believe that those behind this charade are only paid agents and henchmen of selfish and unpatriotic politicians seeking to manipulate at all costs general elections next year.

"We dispel in strong terms the rumors circulating that the boss of INEC and his management team have morally compromised under pressure from political parties to deactivate BIVAS. For the record, BIVAS and all electoral reforms currently in place have been endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC (All Progressives Congress) and the National Assembly.”

MEANWHILE, the Building Blocks For Peace Foundation has paved the way for peaceful elections next year. To avoid the large-scale violence that has been seen in previous elections, he advised political actors, especially presidential candidates, to start speaking out on concrete ways to ensure inclusiveness in governance. and national unity.

The organization has warned that unless urgent action is taken to address emerging early warnings, the 2023 polls could be violent.

Its executive director, Rafiu Adeniran Lawal, who gave the warning at a press conference in Abuja over the weekend, said the decisions of the ruling party to adopt the same faith and the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) handing over his nomination to the North generated tensions throughout the country.

He said the proliferation of small arms and light weapons across the federation should also agitate everyone.

Referring to a report that some 6,145,000 small arms were in the hands of civilians and non-state actors, Lawal warned that if the situation is not handled well, it could affect the elections.< /p>

The foundation stressed the need to reorganize the entire peace and security architecture of the country for the safety of INEC officials, voters, observers and citizens, as well as for the sanctity of the whole process.
