Zamfara government announces construction of 500m access road to Army Staff College

The Zamfara state government has earmarked over 700 million naira to rebuild and repair five bridges that collapsed and isolated some communities in the state.

Furthermore, the state government has approved the construction of a 500 meter access road to the 1st Brigade Gusau Staff College of the Nigerian Army.

Speaking at the official inauguration of the 500-meter access road in Gusau on Friday, the State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Abdullahi Mohammed Gurbin Bore, said Governor Bello Matawalle will is committed to improving the living conditions of the people of the state.< /p>

“His Excellency, Governor Bello Mohammed Mattawale graciously approved the reconstruction and repair of 5 collapsed bridges and the construction of a 500 meter access road to the 1 Brigade Staff School Nigerian Army Gusau,” he said.

According to Gurbin bore, one of the bridges has collapsed in the past four years, cutting off access to nearby communities.

"Many communities have been cut off due to inaccessible roads as a result of these collapsed bridges, some of the affected community must create an alternative by using a canoe to cross and reach another community".

He revealed that the current administration of Governor Bello Matawalle in the state has approved over N700 million to the Ministry of Rural and Community Development and commenced work as direct labor to cushion the difficulties of the affected communities.

Gurbin bore explained that the collapsed bridges affected include that of Tofa, Gungume villages of Dansadau, Bardoki Gayari village of Gummi which collapsed for four years, Gurusu in Bukkuyum and ruwan Gora in the region of Talata Mafara in the State.
