Zulum evaporated Boko Haram – Bauchi gov

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed said Boko Haram had evaporated due to the leadership style of Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum.

He said this when Zulum visited him at Ramat's house, Bauchi, to sympathize with him for the loss of his older brother, Bappa Mohammed.

The PUNCH had reported that the governor's older brother, who was also Yeriman Duguri, died last Sunday at the age of 69 in a Turkish hospital in Turkiye after a long illness.< /p>

The deceased was deputy director at the Central Bank of Nigeria before retiring about a decade ago. He leaves behind a wife, five children and two brothers namely: Adamu Mohammed, Wakilin Bauchi and Governor Bala Mohammed.

Governor Mohammed has praised Zulum for his leadership style, which he says has restored peace to the troubled northeast state of Borno.

He said, "I have worked closely with you, you are a young man, the youngest but the oldest among us. No wonder you are our Chairman of the Northeast Governors Forum- East, where you look at all of the development challenges of the northeast and indeed the country.

"You really showed pedigree and leadership. I didn't know you were coming (to Bauchi). This is the style of leadership you show in Borno and in Nigeria.

"The courage you have, we try to imitate a little. You dare all the miscreants and charlatans who bombard us. Today, even Mr. President is proud to be associated with you. You are the person the most visited by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that says a lot.

“Boko Haram has evaporated and we are working hard to secure our jurisdiction after you have secured where the center of terrorism and violence is.

“We are proud of you, we are proud to be associated with you. gave leadership.

“When I was vying for the presidency, I made sure the northeast had a say and I made sure the northeast had a say in the direction of this country. asked this gentleman, 'you run? If you run, I don't have to run, because I know you will do it better than me and yet I have this respect for him. I did mine, can -be that he will come to follow us.

“Today we have a presidential candidate and a vice-presidential candidate. He is a hero to come and someone we greatly respect as a zone and a country.”

Speaking earlier, Zulum said he was in Bauchi to sympathize with the governor, his family and the entire state government over this unfortunate incident.

"On behalf of the government and the good people of Borno State as well as my family, I sympathize with you, extend my condolences on the passing of your eldest brother.

"May the Almighty Allah, in His infinite wisdom, forgive him and admit him to Jannatu Firdaus and may He give the governor, all his family and the people of Bauchi state the courage bear this irreparable loss.

"Unfortunately, the death occurred while I was overseas and not in the photo. When I was told about the incident, I said that the Governor and I were brothers and that nothing would happen to him that I did not come to sympathize with him, ”he said
