The First Minister of Scotland said she attended a memorial service while still having a miscarriage.

Nicola Sturgeon spoke openly of the loss of a baby in the past but provided more details in an interview on ITVLoose Women.

Speaking to the hosts, we asked to the prime minister how she could cope with such a traumatic experience and continue to be a politician.

"If you go online and google you can find a picture of me at the 'an event, actually while I'm still having a miscarriage, a public commemoration for a disaster that happened decades ago in Scotland,' she said.

" Looking at me, looking at this photo now, it's clear that I'm in a lot of pain."

The 1971 Ibrox disaster was a thunderbolt for the crowd at a football match between Rangers and Celtic which left 66 dead and more than 200 injured.

Addressing how she handled the loss, the Premier said: "I can only speak for myself , but I think it's more common than me - you just bury it.

“Actually, you don't care for it, you don't treat it.

< p>"I've done this to one degree or another for my entire adult life."

She added that the Baby Loss Memorial Book - an initiative she launched last week - l may have helped her cope with her experience.
