Northamptonshire: Ben Sanderson and Luke Procter sign new contracts to stay at Wantage Road

Ben Sanderson

Sanderson, 33, is Northants top wicket-taker in County Championship Division One this season with 30 , while Procter tops the charts, averaging 815 so far out of 81.

The southpaw Procter has signed up for two more years at Wantage Road.

Sanderson's contract is for three years and runs until the end of the 2025 season.

"Feels like building something really special at the club and I can't wait to be a part of it," Sanderson, who had his most successful T20 Blast campaign this year, said.

"It's been a good year so far overall and the sentiment around the team is true positively, I can't wait to see what the future holds."

Proctor is on course for his most prolific premiership season ever thanks to his consistency this summer, which saw him hit three hundred and three half-centuries - including 78 in their thrilling two-wicket win over Gloucestershire.

"I feel like I'm in a good position with my stick at the minute and I know what my role is in order,” he said.

"I hope I can continue and contribute to some more wins for the county."

With four championship rounds remaining, Northants are fifth in the Premier League, 31 points above Somerset in the final relegation spot.
