Nunez v Haaland as Liverpool fans embarrass; Sir Alex to stop Man Utd 'scheming'

The letterbox couldn't resist a bit of Nunez against Haaland, while Liverpool fans are embarrassed and Arteta's plan is clearly clear. Send your comments to theeditor@football365.com.

Tasty Nunez vs. HaalandI don't think you can judge the Charity shield as a competitive game, but you can definitely consider it a good pre-season game that is played at a relatively high level.

I said it a week or two ago and I meant it even more today; I think Haaland will need time to settle in. A few times today he's gone off early and found himself offside, but City's side tend to move into midfield. He didn't seem 100% comfortable to me and that miss at the end won't help him.

Foden is an incredible talent. Stupid haircut, super baller.

Nunez looked pretty tasty to me. Fast, aggressive and perfectly adapted to our way of playing. Probably should have scored two today.

Diaz is funny. I thought pre-season would be great for him to understand the team better and improve his final ball and finishing. I feel like what he was last season was similar to what he will be this season. Ultimately, that will make him a very good player but not strictly world-class like Mane was for Liverpool. That said, the quality of our team is now such that we don't strictly need another Mané to be really strong again.

This could be the season for Harvey Elliott to emerge properly. He has real talent and last season's injury completely screwed him up. I think he will have plenty of chances in midfield and in attack and I think he will impress.

So excited for the season. Minty, LFC

Nunez mocks First off, I don't really rate the charity shield or friendlies in general, they're just for improving fitness and sharpness in matches.

So when this clip made the rounds of Nunez I didn't pay much attention to it, nor did I when he scored 4. Pre-season is really all about fitness and nothing more.

But there's a funny irony that everyone laughs at Nunez and says he'd be a failure while simultaneously claiming that haaland would be an instant hit, only for haaland to make two of the most embarrassing duds of them all times while his opponent was generally playing well and scoring.

Maybe next time City fans will think twice about using silly pre-season clips to mock their opponent.

For the record, I think Haaland is a great player, but it might take him a bit of time to adjust to the faster and tighter marking in the Premier League, but I'm sure he will a success. Lee

Do me a favor, MatthewWell, that was a fun game of football. I won't read the result of a pre-season friendly too much, but it was played with pace and intensity and I was encouraged by the way Liverpool played.

Unfortunately most teams won't play this way against City, although they can be reached if some of the other teams in the league are a little braver.

In other news, nice article Matthew Stead but do me a favor and admit your article would have been written in exactly the same (but opposite) way if Haaland had scored one and made one at a 3-1 win at Manchester City.

And by the way, you write an article bemoaning the perceived rivalry between players that transcends the actual football game perpetuates the very issue you oppose! James (der der der der, f*ck the tories) Outram, Wirral< /p>

Embarrassing the Liverpool fans Well it was a very good game, both teams played well in the stages and probably the right result at the end. I'm a Liverpool fan so obviously I'm happy with the result and the performance, but how do I feel? Embarrassment and anger.

Only days/weeks after learning this kind of shit...
