Jazz Legend Doc 'Louis Armstrong's Black & Blues' Official Trailer

Louis Armstrong's Black & Blues Trailer

"All over the world he had the respect and love of millions, what more could you ask of a man?" Apple TV released an official trailer for a movie musical documentary titled Louis Armstrong's Black & Blues - that title is pretty clever. The film just premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival and will be available to stream later this fall via Apple TV+. TIFF introduces him by stating, "Louis Armstrong has meticulously recorded audio diaries of himself that reveal a different side of his personality than the showman on camera. These tapes play a key role in this deeply insightful documentary portrait of the musician from virtuoso jazz - which also draws on a stunning array of additional archival footage." Looks good, I'm intrigued. They add this tidbit: "Visually, the film remains rooted in Armstrong's era, drawing on eclectic footage of him in performance, on the road and at home." TIFF's reviews are all positive, praising the smart film, saying the director "Jenkins isn't intimidated by the complexity of its subject matter, diving in with swagger and not caring if we have unanswered questions at the end. ." Bring it on! Looks like a must-have watch for music lovers.
