Official US trailer for Brazil's queer romance film "Private Desert"

Kino Lorber has unveiled an official US trailer for the Brazilian indie romance titled Private Desert, also known as the name of Deserto Particular, which premiered in the Giornate degli Autori sidebar at the 2021 Venice Film Festival. It also played at the São Paulo, Thessaloniki and Gothenburg, as well as at this year's BFI Flare in London. The film follows a cop who is suspended and will wander the country in search of a real encounter with his internet lover. It is described as "a timely and urgent affirmation of queer love anchored by the gripping performances of Antonio Saboia (Bacurau) and newcomer Pedro Fasanaro". Boasting lush cinematography and a hauntingly atmospheric score, it's "a swooning, sun-kissed romance, a powerful examination of masculinity, and a triumphant affirmation of love and humanity." queer at a time when LGBTQ+ rights are dangerously at risk across the world and in Brazil in particular." "Remember when we used to talk about being alone in the world?" Sara (Pedro Fasanaro) is a sexist worker who now lives under her male birth identity Robson during the day while caring for her religious grandmother in Sobradinho, a small town in northeast Brazil.
