Oh man! NBC releases 15-Second Quantum Leap promo and poster! *Updated with the trailer!*

NBC has released a fifteen-second promotional trailer that sees the main character, Dr. Ben Seung, "jump" into a woman's body in 1986 Los Angeles. Although short, the clip is a fun little look at the show's taste and gives us a little window into the kind of people it could inhabit. I guess it comes from the driver, but I could actually be wrong. The Quantum Leap, if you didn't already know, is a beloved series that aired on NBC from 1989 to 1993 and featured the adventures of Dr. Sam Beckett (played wonderfully by Scott Bakula) who enters a device called Quantum Leap Accelerator and disappears through time. He wakes up to find himself in a body that isn't his own, and every week for five seasons he "jumps" from life to life in hopes of fixing what went wrong. This new series takes place 30 years after Sam's disappearance and features a new team. Whether or not Bakula will return to her original role is a secret, but I for one would love to see Sam make the jump home. The original show is considered by many to be one of the greatest cult series of all time and has won multiple Primetime Emmys and Golden Globes for its acting, storytelling and cinematography. This sequel to the original has some big shoulders to stand on, I just hope it can deliver something special. As usual, let us know what you think in the talkbacks and I'll see you on the next hop...

*UPDATE*

NBC has now released a full trailer for the series which gives us a much better look at the characters, time periods and mood of the series. I'm not going to lie to you, I'm not impressed. It seems far from the quality of the original, but I'll let you judge for yourself...
