Oliver Dowden 'completely confident' in Conservatives despite tough polls

Oliver Dowden insisted he had “total confidence” in the Conservatives despite being shown discouraging poll results during a live interview on Sunday April 7.

The Deputy Prime Minister was interviewed by Trevor Phillips on Sky. News it was "over" for the Tories as the country had "stopped listening" to the party.

In response, Mr Dowden insisted he was "totally convinced" that the figures he had would decline when the Conservatives embarked on "a real election campaign."

He said: "These polls are still, to some extent, indications of public frustrations, especially after 14 years in power.
