India: Passengers brawl on Thai Smile Airways flight

Tempers flared when a fight broke out and punches were thrown between five passengers on a flight from Bangkok to India.

Two travelers were filmed arguing verbally on board the low-cost airline Thai Smile Airways heading to the city of Kolkata in West Bengal on Tuesday, December 27.

The couple were heard telling each other to "sit down quietly" and "put your hands down" as a frantic flight attendant tried to defuse the argument over the single-aisle Airbus A320.

However, the fight only escalated when one of the men's friends approached and punches were thrown.

The second man appeared to try to defend himself from the attacks of the group.

Shocking footage shows the flier in a black collared shirt receiving a one-sided beating as the scuffle caused chaos in the cabin.

Other passengers and crew were heard calling for the men to stop.

A stewardess finally ended the altercation by separating the two parties. It is unclear what had caused the fight.
