Passports are still issued in the late Queen's name months after her death

Passports will continue to be issued in the Queen's name despite her death.

Travel documents distributed months after the death of the late monarch will last up to 10 years.

This means that passports could be the last documents to officially bear the authority of the last monarch.

Those issued now will be valid until 2031 when King Charles turns 84.

A spokesperson said: 'Passports referencing the King will be issued once operational changes have been implemented.
