Pelé: Mirror's Andy Lines visits soccer icon's final resting place

Pelé's dying wish was to choose the ninth floor of a cemetery in his beloved hometown of Santos for his final resting place.

This is a special poignant tribute to his dear dad who always wore the number 9 jersey as a player.

As I turned away from where Pelé's coffin would rest forever, I could clearly see the iconic Santos stadium just half a mile away.

His devoted fans believe that Pelé will always be able to "see" his favorite football pitch for eternity.

On Tuesday, Pelé's coffin will be gently slid into this vault under the watchful eye of his grieving family and friends alongside his father forever.
