A retiree who used cannibis was jailed for an accident that killed her partner.
Marguerita Elizabeth, 70, was a regular smoker up to 12 bongs a day at the time of the accident and had been using the drug since she was 20.
The pensioner was 'seriously impaired' when her car hit a tree in Strathalbyn, South Australia, in June last year, a court heard.
His partner was traveling in the passenger seat and died in hospital after being injured.
Elizabeth pleaded guilty to the accident, but asked the court to have any sentence served at home.
However, the judge denied his request and said a strong message needed to be sent to other drivers,

Speaking after the sentencing, South Australia Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said the judgment "clearly sends a strong message about the potential consequences of this behaviour".
