Suite Plaza: Theater critics say Sarah Jessica Parker is a 'revelation'

Theatre Critics largely praised Sarah Jessica Parker's performance in a new West End production, although some were less enthusiastic about the play itself.

The Sex and the City star stars alongside husband Matthew Broderick in Neil Simon's 1968 play Plaza Suite.

The Telegraph said Parker had provided "terrific entertainment value" in its four-star review.

Speaking backstage, Parker said the themes of the three-act play about relationships are “universal”.

Parker and Broderick play three different couples, uniquely related. by the fact that they are all staying in suite 719 at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

The first act examines a marriage in trouble, the second sees two lovers childhood memories reunite two decades after their separation, and the third sees two parents caring for a girl who locked herself in the bathroom on her wedding day.
