Pregnant woman found dead in warehouse with fetus removed in grim discovery

A missing pregnant woman has been found dead next to her friend who was also murdered with the fetus removed from her womb.

Martha Aurora Ramírez Luis, 19, was eight months pregnant when she was last seen getting into a taxi she had booked through a taxi app on November 26.

The mother-to-be was with her friend Claudia González Perales, 34, when they both got into the taxi in Escobedo, Nuevo León, Mexico, when they were never due be reviewed.

Several days after their disappearance, the bodies of two young women were found on Wednesday in an abandoned warehouse in the Paso Cucharas neighborhood.

The teenager's mother, Maricela Luis Gallegos, tragically confirmed the victim's identity the following day.

Mrs. Luis' unborn baby was reportedly removed from her womb and his whereabouts are currently unknown.

The Nuevo León prosecutor's office said on December 5 that both women died of strangulation.

Maricela asked for help with her daughter's funeral expenses on social media, saying, "I'm begging everyone to support me as I can't afford to bury my daughter."

The distraught mother was heartbroken last year when Martha's half-sister, 25-year-old Irma Yamel Martínez Luis, was shot dead in the Monterrey metropolitan area.
