PSG president calls Ronaldo 'impossible'

A decision to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Paris Saint-Germain would be "impossible", according to club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Ronaldo and Manchester United have parted ways after a bombshell interview in which the Portuguese star said he felt 'betrayed' by club figures, while claiming to have 'no respect' for coach Erik ten Hag.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's exit has sparked plenty of talk about his next club, with Ligue 1 giants PSG being one of the teams rumored to be interested in making the move. 37-year-old player.

But PSG president Al-Khelaifi has ruled out any potential deal, despite heaping praise on the former Real Madrid player.

"He's a legend, he's a star," Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports News. "The footballer, I admire and love him as a player and a professional. A fantastic player.

"He's 37 now; he's doing very well. But every club wants to sign him too. The problem today for us is that we have the position [occupied] - his position - so it's not is not easy to replace the post we have with him.

"It would be impossible, honestly, for us."

One such player that PSG have in place of Ronaldo is Kylian Mbappe, who currently tops the World Cup goalscoring charts in Qatar with France.

Mbappe was heavily linked with a move from PSG to Real Madrid earlier this year, but the 23-year-old has instead signed a bumper new deal to stay in the French capital.

Al-Khelaifi believes it was vital to keep Mbappe at PSG, saying: "For me, he is a very high level player and a high level, professional human being.

"For me, it was really essential that he stay and not leave for free. That's another important point.

"As I always said, I always trusted him, trusted his family because we created a special relationship with the player and them and that's why… he's Parisian, he's French and he is always proud to be in France."< /p>
