Crime in the local Rishi Sunak area of ​​North Yorkshire has soared 60% more than the national average over the past five years, figures reveal.

And the statistics also show troubling crime rates in the constituencies represented by Justice Secretary Dominic Raab and Home Secretary Suella Braverman.

Mr. Sunak pledged this week to tackle anti-social behavior, banning "hippy crack" laughing gas canisters and threatening nuisance tenants with tougher eviction rules.

But over the same period, public order incidents in North Yorkshire, where Mr Sunak's Richmond constituency sits, rose by 236%, more than three times the national average.< /p>

While crime damage has dropped significantly across the country, the rate in North Yorkshire is 55% lower than the national average.

Meanwhile, Hampshire, which includes Ms Braverman's Fareham constituency, has seen a five-year increase in drug-related crime of 52%, 62% more than the national average.

And in Surrey, where Mr Raab is headquartered in Esher and Walton, theft is nearly seven times the national average.

“Anti-social behavior undermines people’s fundamental right to feel safe where they call home,” Mr Sunak said as he launched his crackdown on Monday.

"This action plan outlines how we will address this problem with the urgency it deserves and eradicate these crimes once and for all - so that, wherever you live, you can feel safe and proud of your community.
