Not all dogs are placed in loving homes soon after entering this world - some have to spend their lives on the streets.
Seven-week-old Gunnar was wandering scared and alone in Groendal, Franschhoek, South Africa, when he came across him.
The Animal Rescue Center, dedicated to rescuing dogs from abusive situations, fell in love with the pup almost instantly and knew he would make the perfect pet for the right person.
When the team approached Gunnar, he greeted them with a slice of bread he carried with him so he could snack on it when he was hungry.
Sharing his story on Facebook, a spokesperson said: "The previous week his family had been delivered to be euthanized, but luckily for Gunnar he was mistakenly dropped.
