Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96

Queen Elizabeth II, the oldest monarch in British history, has died.

The Royal Family announced on Thursday: 'The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon'...just hours after the Palace announced that she was under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle, her estate in Scotland.

They also made it clear that King Charles is now in power, writing: "The King and Queen Consort will stay at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow."
