Rachel Zegler Admits She's 'Afraid' of Paparazzi, Warns They Won't Make Money From Her: 'I'm Not J.Lo'

"West Side Story" escape Rachel Zegler has some things to say to the paparazzi.

The star of Disney's upcoming 'Snow White' has shared a message on social media for the groups of photographers who follow her in New York. She explained how the media's constant pursuit of candid photos of her started to make her feel unsafe and revealed that she planned to wear the same coat every day to make the photos worthless (a famous strategy used by Daniel Radcliffe in the Broadway era).

“Dear paparazzi in New York,” Zegler wrote in a recent Twitter thread. “I literally always wear this coat. Is it so interesting?"

"Like, I really appreciate you all being nice to me, especially because I'm afraid to say no to you because you're a bunch of guys and I'm a single woman in New York", she continued. “But I literally always wear this. I will always wear it if it's winter in New York. I will always wear this jacket with jeans and some kind of heeled shoe. It will never be different. I hope you will earn a lot of money with your photos. I don't think you will because I'm not J.Lo!"

Of course, the young actress is no stranger to backlash online. Her "Snow White" casting has inspired some predictable outrage from certain groups of internet personalities, though Zegler has made it clear that she's not going to let racist trolling interfere with her ability to play a Latina Disney princess.

"When it was announced, it was a huge thing that was trending on Twitter for days because everyone was angry," she said in a recent interview. "You don't normally see a Snow White of Latin descent. Even though Snow White is really a big deal in Spanish-speaking countries. Blanca Nieves is a huge icon, whether you're talking about the Disney cartoon or just different iterations and of the Grimm fairy tale and all the stories that go with it. But you don't particularly see people who look like me or play roles like that."
