Relevant club market returns with EPL and La Liga clubs in the US and Mexico this summer

Friendlies mark a return to the men's club market for Relevent Sports Group, organizers of the International Champions Cup summer friendly series which was halted in 2020 by the pandemic.

Newcastle United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham and Brentford will face off in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, New Jersey and Maryland in the United States from July 22-30 in what is being billed as the first Premier League. USA East Coast Summer Series.

Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Real Betis of LaLiga will play Guadalajara (Estadio Akron) and Monterrey (BBVA) in Mexico on August 2, and Oracle Park in San Francisco in a doubles match on August 5.

The return to men's club play for Relevent comes after the suspension in 2020 of the pre-season International Champions Cup which was played annually from 2013 to 2019 in the United States and Asia and included some matches in Europe. The tournament featured exclusively top European clubs.

With Covid forcing the men's event to a halt, Relevent have hosted a Women's Champions Cup in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, the event took place at Providence Park in Portland Thorns and featured Olympique Lyonnais, Chelsea and CF Monterrey alongside the Thorns.

American sports marketing company Relevent has entered the European club market with its LaLiga North America joint venture, a UEFA media rights partnership and its International Champions Cup properties (men's, women and youth).

Relevent is part of Stephen Ross' portfolio of businesses, which includes the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami F1 Grand Prix and the Miami Tennis Open.
