Relive the 90s with our guide to every song in The Yellowjackets Season 2

The first song we hear right after the Season 1 recap is, surprisingly, not a 90s track at all. That doesn't mean it's any less appropriate, though. Sharon Van Etten's 2019 single "Seventeen" plays to snowy landscapes and in the confined corners of the cabin, the hapless Yellowjackets still lurk. With lyrics like "I think you're all the same / Constantly astray" and "I used to be free / I was seventeen", this song is a great indicator of both the impending reign of Lottie (Courtney Eaton and Simone Kessell) and how the plane crash changed the lives of the whole team.

Returning to real-life '90s tunes, Smashing Pumpkins' "Drown" plays as a pivotal revelation between Shauna (Sophie Nélisse and Melanie Lynskey) and the now-deceased Jackie (Ella Purnell) is shown . Considering the song is about someone you may never see again, its inclusion is both odd and very well suited.

"#1 Crush" by Garbage also plays during a painful and steamy moment between Shauna and Jeff with lyrics like "Viole all the love I miss/Throw away all the pain I'm going through" serving perfect subtext to their intimate exchange. Life is hard for the Sadecki, all of you. Shortly after this moment, Jeff is seen in his car rocking out to one of 2000's most memorable songs, "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. The moment is so wild that we even wrote an entire article to break it down.

The 90s nostalgia ends with the episode's final track, Tori Amos' classic "Cornflake Girl." It's most likely the perfect melody to go with Shauna's visual... well, you know. As far as we are concerned, all Yellowjackets are Raisin Girls.
