Resolution Games, the developer of virtual and augmented reality titles such as Demeo and Blaston, has announced that it has reached several growth milestones in 2021. It has also acquired Stockholm-based company Zenz VR.

Resolution announces its fifth consecutive year of profitability. It also reports nearly 4x the growth in B2C revenue and 3x the total number of game downloads in 2021 compared to 2020. Resolution's talent has also increased by 55% compared to the end of last year. It currently has 158 employees.

Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games, said in a statement, "As the leader in virtual reality gaming, we've had the opportunity to learn what works best for immersive gaming and what doesn't. not work. This experience puts us in a unique position to apply these learnings as we explore the next generation of technologies, including mixed and augmented reality. With sales of VR headsets seemingly doubling each year and the rise of the With next-gen AR and MR upon us, we find ourselves firmly entrenched in an era where pioneers will help define what the next generation of games will be.

The company also announced the talent-driven acquisition of Zenz VR. Zenz employees will bolster Resolution's current projects (the acquisition did not include any of Zenz's current IPs). Some of the employees have already started working in the AR division of Resolution. The company also launched a US-based subsidiary in Austin, Texas called Resolution Games Inc. Resolution Games co-founder Paul Brady leads the spin-off studio, which has 8 employees.
