A British attraction linked to the French Revolution is set to gain popularity thanks to the release of Ridley Scott's film . new film, Napoleon.
Levens Hall and Gardens, in Cumbria, is home to a treasure trove of objects that belonged to both the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and to his greatest adversary, the Duke of Wellington.
Among the objects on display are a lock of the Duke's hair, a paper blotter of Napoleon and a clasp of bees extracted from the emperor's cloak. after its defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
With these objects and much more, the Elizabethan Hall claims to be "excellently placed" to satisfy the curiosity of fans who "feel absorbed by this period" when the film hits screens on November 22.
He adds: "Thanks to the life breathed into it to actor Joaquin Phoenix's character of the French emperor and soldier, Levens Hall and Gardens, located near Kendal, predicts a renewed interest in all things Napoleonic.'
