Bitcoin adoption ripples at Surfin Bitcoin conference in Biarritz, France

With popular and large-scale Bitcoin advocacy displays, could the wind change France's anti-Bitcoin sentiment? Analysis

A sublime sunset enveloped the Casino de Biarritz on August 27, closing the largest Bitcoin (BTC) conference in France. Located in the southwest of France and hosted by French Bitcoin exchange Stackin Sat, Surfin Bitcoin has brought together a crowd of Bitcoin OGs, beginners and non-moneymakers, those who have yet to buy or earn crypto, in a setting that would rival any Hollywood movie set.

Bitcoiners have networked in hopes of learning more about the Lightning Network, landing jobs at one of the many French Bitcoin companies there — from Galoy Money to Discover Bitcoin — or simply rub shoulders with other bitcoin enthusiasts. In a touch of bear market irony, as Bitcoin tokens are currently falling, the venue for the event took place at the illustrious Casino de Biarritz.

From Bitcoin's main maintainers to European royalty and of course the CEOs of France's top crypto companies, the vibe was quintessentially French, albeit with a bubbly international influence.
