The fraudster, whose surname is Song, is now being prosecuted for dumping the mother and son of thousands of people after he struck up a relationship with them on Chinese app WeChat.

The scammer, who has been dubbed the 'God of Online Dating' on social media, was living in Gansu province when he met the mother, identified only by her surname Jiang, on the street , according to .
