Rosanna Getty's collaboration with the Women's History Museum on display at Saks Fifth Avenue

Rosetta Getty, who has a long-standing artistic partnership with the Women's History Museum and the duo of artists Amanda McGowan and Mattie Rivkah Barringer team up with Saks Fifth Avenue. They set up a visual display at Saks on the fourth floor through September 26 showcasing Getty's Fall 2022 collection.

The fall collection is an expression of femininity and what has defined women's clothing through the centuries. Styles focus on reinventing and rebuilding classically worn pieces.

The partnership resulted in the creation of a print, executed on a new knit jersey fabrication , with a collage of fabric scraps that create a unique ombre effect all over the body. It has the meaning of a tattoo or a second skin.

Getty first discovered the Women's History Museum while visiting the former Gavin Gallery Brown, where the collective had an exhibition. She said the gallery had been transformed into a boutique with displays and clothes that almost looked like they were from a theater production. "Examining the clothes, I could feel the individuality and thoughts of the designer behind each cobblestone garment. It reminded me of how I first designed and the process was pure creativity and little merchandising said Getty.

For fall, Getty decided to bring "the extravagant and unusual energy" for which the Women's History Museum is known for her brand of what she called "an unpretentious and quite playful manner".

"Juxtaposing this sensibility and the craftsmanship of their pieces with the polish of Rosetta Getty is the most contemporary how to dress today. It's also crucial for me to support young female artists and designers. We all have so much to learn from each other," Getty said, in her Fall 2022 collection notes. p>
