Waves of 'suicide drones' hit Kyiv today shortly after the Kremlin took delivery of hundreds of deadly weapons from Iran.

Cargo planes from Tehran landed at Vnukovo airport in Moscow this weekend, heralding a new campaign of terror against the Ukrainian civilian population.

Moscow is believed to have ordered more than 2,000 drones, fearing that Russia is deploying them in “swarms” in an effort to defeat Ukrainian air defenses.

The Kremlin also received Fateh-100 and Zolfaghar ballistic missiles from Tehran, delivered in an Iranian II-76 heavy-lift cargo plane.

Explosive-tipped Shahed-136 drones crashed into Kyiv on Monday, torching buildings, killing three people and sending residents rushing to shelters.

The port of Mykolaiv was also attacked by drones when Russia launched airstrikes on Odessa and up to 16 cruise missiles were fired from the Black Sea.

A drone that piled up in Kyiv was marked 'For Belgorod' - indicating it was in revenge for attacks on the city's facilities over the weekend. It was the second barrage of horror in as many weeks - after months in which airstrikes had become a rarity in central Kyiv.

By noon, a swarm of at least 28 drones had been sent against the capital, many of which were shot down in what Mayor Vitali Klitschko called "terrorism".

Energy facilities were hit and a drone slammed into a residential building, killing three people, Kyiv authorities said.

Intense, sustained bursts of gunfire rang out as the plane buzzed overhead, as soldiers attempted to shoot them down.
