Many countries have their own way of celebrating at this time of year. In Sweden, the Yule goat is a symbol of Christmas that dates back to ancient pagan holidays. In Mexico, a colorful religious march at the start of the holiday season traces Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem. In El Salvador, fireworks signal the start of the festivities, and in the city of San Fernando in the Philippines, a giant lantern festival features dazzling parols (lanterns) that symbolize the Star of Bethlehem .

This week, we'd like to hear about the favorite holiday traditions you've encountered on your travels. If you have a relevant photo, submit it - but your words will be judged for the contest.
