Simon Thomas thanks the NHS after premature baby birth
TV presenter Simon Thomas has f had the praise of 'incredible' NHS staff for giving birth to their baby girl eight weeks earlier.
He said his wife Derrina fell "rapidly ill" and was taken to hospital in Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire, where their daughter is born Tuesday.
The team "held us physically and mentally through a very fearful and stressful day," he said on Instagram.
His family has "a long way to go but they are in good hands", he said.
"One moment we think we have eight weeks left until our little one arrives; the next day, after Derrina falls rapidly ill, we suddenly welcome to the world a very small, but extremely precious little girl, weighing just over three pounds."
