Star Trek: Picard's Latest Trailer Suggests Series Will End With a Boom

With New York Comic Con underway this weekend, Paramount has shared a new trailer for the final season of Star Trek: Picard. After previous teasers mostly played nostalgia for the return of the main cast of The Next Generation to the franchise, the new trailer finally offers a glimpse into the story of season three. And judging by the clip, Picard will end in style.

The trailer opens with Starfleet facing a brand new threat in the form of an alien ship called the Shrike. What follows is a series of amusing scenes that sees Admiral Jean-Luc Picard recruiting his old friends, some of them less than willing, to take on a villain played by Amanda Plummer from Pulp Fiction. There's something satisfying about how characters like Worf have changed in unexpected ways over their final years. Even more unexpected are the two cameos at the end of the trailer. Daniel Davis returns as holographic Professor Moriarty, while Brent Spiner will play Data's evil Android twin, Lore.

Along with a new trailer for Star Trek: Picard, Paramount has also shared new teasers for Discovery season five and the mid-season return by Prodigy . The latter will debut on October 27, while the former is expected to arrive next year. The final season of Picard will begin airing on February 16, 2023.
