FunPlus, one of the best-known mobile developers, celebrates three years of state of survival. It also celebrates another big achievement - 150 million downloads. The pace of downloads isn't slowing down, from the looks of things. Last year, State of Survival passed the milestone of 100 million downloads.

The wildly successful strategy game is celebrated in many ways.

State of Survival hit the 150 million download mark with several in-game activities for players to celebrate. Login events, themed frame avatars, and decorations pushed the player count higher and higher. The celebrations also included a new episode of the Meet the Survivors series.

"We are incredibly proud of the performance of State of Survival and our growing community over these three successful years," FunPlus' Chris Petrovic said in a statement to GamesBeat. "This milestone of 150 million downloads solidifies State of Survival as one of the great franchises in the strategy genre."

State of Survival's third anniversary kicks off even more celebrations. The game's various social channels will announce new rewards and content over the next few days. Players who have reached Generation 9 level will have access to new heroes, Buzz and Scope.

Buzz is a post-apocalyptic guitarist who's ready to kill, whether it's on guitar or against zombies. Scope is a sniper, whose partner died and left him an aimless wanderer.

State of Survival is one of those games that I almost accidentally played many times. I tend to go through phases with mobile devices. Eventually I'll get bored and stop playing mobile games altogether, then months later I'll start again.

Every time in the past few years I've browsed the App Store or Google Play. I'm going to see State of Survival, I think it looks interesting, I'm going to install it and I remember I've played it before. A lot.

That doesn't stop me from diving into it for a few more hours. Based on the fact that the game has over 150 million downloads, I have to assume I'm not alone there.
