T20 World Cup: Graham Hume replaces injured Craig Young in Ireland squad

Cricket Ireland Chief Medical Officer Mark Rausa said that Young had "experienced a recurrence of a chronic problem that we are managing".

"While we thought we were in control the problem, it unfortunately burst once arrived in Sydney", added Rausa.

Ireland start his campaign against Zimbabwe on Sunday, October 17.

Waringstown pacemaker Hume, 31, made his international debut in July against New Zealand in a one-day game and featured in his first Twenty20 contest a month later against Afghanistan.

Ireland will play their next warm-up match against Namibia in Melbourne on Tuesday ahead of a match with Sri Lanka two days later.
