A teenage killer who tortured a pensioner and dumped her body in a trash can claims she should be released, despite being called back to prison seven times.

Sarah Davey was 14 when she and her 15-year-old girlfriend Lisa Healey beat 71-year-old Lily Lilley to death in her townhouse in 1998 before dumping her body in a canal.

At Davey's trial, the judge called it a "murder of indescribable cruelty" as he handed him an indefinite life sentence.

Now documents seen by the Daily Mirror show parole chiefs blocked his request for release after the opioid painkiller subutex was found in his system.

Davey, now in his late thirties, appealed the decision, but a panel rejected it.

In a written judgment, they referenced Davey's new partner and cited "concerns that any resumption of this relationship would increase the risk of serious harm to the public by the plaintiff as a result".< /p>
