reports that the pilot of the EasyJet Airbus A320 was asked by air traffic control to land safely in Bari after damage to the craft was detected.

The 90 passengers on board at that time escaped unscathed and then completed their journey to Naples by land.

An Easyjet spokesperson said in quotes reported by The Sun: "We can confirm that flight EJU2889 from Milan to Naples has diverted to Bari, following a lightning strike at the airport. approaching Naples, only as a precaution and in accordance with our procedures.
