After Nora's death, Riley decides to get rid of the box. Before she does, however, Pinhead tempts her with her brother's resurrection. Riley refuses. Pinhead brushes his fingers and the blade pops out of the box, stabbing Riley's hand. Now Cenobites can claim his soul whenever they want. Riley is therefore faced with an impossible choice: let himself be torn apart, or sacrifice two others at the box to reach his final configuration.

Riley knows this box will only bring more pain, but she's still tempted by the hope of feeling good again - in this case, getting her brother back. Plus, this moment allows Jamie Clayton to revel in her evil monologue, and she's awfully badass.

In an interview with Yahoo, Clayton spoke about the extreme discomfort of Pinhead prosthetics and how she had to dig deep into the "well of my life and all the good and bad things I've been through , putting this all in a jar and casting a spell and hoping it worked" for his performance.
