Taylor Jenkins Reid may be a literary success story today, but her journey to the top of the bestseller list has not been easy. Speaking to USA Today in 2018, Reid said his career path had "a lot of zigs and zags." "I didn't know what I wanted to do," Reid said of her goals after graduating from college. "I had vague ideas but I had a hard time figuring them out." For three years, Reid worked as a casting assistant for films. Afterwards, she worked in an office in a studio before briefly switching to technology, while writing books. She then turned to teaching and was working in a high school when she sold her first book and eventually turned to writing full time.

Reid's books have become national bestsellers, thanks in part to his large fan base on BookTok. 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo', 'Malibu Rising' and 'Carrie Soto Is Back' have all become fan favorites, while 'Daisy Jones & the Six' has just been made into a hit TV series and "One True Loves" has been adapted into a film. Reid has also turned his pen to the world of screenwriting; she co-wrote a new movie, "My Ex-Friend's Wedding," which will star Amanda Seyfried and Ariana DeBose.
