Here are some of the scenes captured by the winners of the nature photography competition of , a prestigious award that celebrates photographers who “beautifully capture the essence of nature, showcasing the magnificence of landscapes, wildlife, flora and fauna.

This is the first nature-themed competition hosted by AAP, a monthly online magazine that strives to educate and inspire all things photography by providing a platform to “outstanding” work from around the world.

Twenty-five photographers from 11 countries around the world were recognized. The overall winner is Thomas Vijayan, an Indian wildlife photographer whose subjects include the orangutans of Borneo and the critically endangered golden-headed langur monkeys of Vietnam.
