Looking to beat the January blues but cash is tight after Christmas? Help is at hand.

Which? revealed the five best value long-haul winter destinations, from the United Arab Emirates to Asia and from the Caribbean to the United States.

Watchdog research found that return flights to LA, the Dominican Republic and Abu Dhabi cost on average less than £500 between January and February. And although India is expensive, once there, decent accommodation - rated as three to four star hotels for this review - is available for £64 a night.
