The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents Poster Released

A new The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes poster has been released for the upcoming The Hunger Games prequel starring Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler.

“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope of his failing line, the once-proud Snow family, who have fallen out of favor in an afterlife Capitol. -war. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from impoverished District 12,” the synopsis reads. "But after Lucy Gray's charm captivates Panem audiences, Snow sees an opportunity to change their destinies. With everything he's worked for hanging in the balance, Snow teams up with Lucy Gray to turn the tide in their favor. Fighting his instincts for good and evil, Snow races against time to survive and reveal whether he will end up becoming a songbird or a serpent."

Based on the 2020 prequel novel by Suzanne Collins, The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents is set 64 years before the events of the Hunger Trilogy Games. It begins on the harvest morning of the Tenth Hunger Games, where 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is assigned as a mentor for the tribute girl of impoverished District 12. The film stars Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Viola Davis, and Peter Dinklage.

Other actors include Hunter Schafer, Jason Schwartzman, Josh Andrés Rivera, Max Raphael, Zoe Renee, Ayomide Adegun, Kaitlyn Akinpelumi, Amelie Hoeferle, Sofia Sanchez, Nick Benson, Laurel Marsden, Lilly Cooper, Luna Steeples, Hiroki Berrecloth, Irene Boehm, Cooper Dillon, Luna Kuse, Kjell Brutscheidt, Dimitri Abold, Athena Strates, Dakota Shapiro, George Somner, Vaughan Reilly, etc.

Written by Michael Lesslie and based on a draft by Collins and Michael Arndt, the film is directed by Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence. It will be helmed by franchise producer Nina Jacobson and her producing partner Brad Simpson, as well as Francis Lawrence. Suzanne Collins, Tim Palen and Jim Miller will serve as executive producers. Meredith Wieck and Scott O'Brien are supervising on behalf of the studio.
