This 38-year-old Pole shoots scenes of the African animal kingdom with great skill, turning his lens on everything from lions devouring their prey to gorillas gently cradling their newborn babies.

Documenting African wildlife has been a passion for Szpila since 2016, when he first visit to Kenya. “It was then that African nature stole my heart, and I am under its spell to this day,” he reveals. Since then, he has been traveling through sub-Saharan Africa, camera in hand. It's the range of animal species in the region - "completely different from species that inhabit other continents" - that keeps Szpila spellbound. "Nature creates many exciting moments to watch - the hunt for predators is sometimes very dramatic," he notes.

Reflecting on his style of photography, Szpila says, "I love when the animals in the photos convey a certain emotion. I especially love when those emotions are human.'
