The winners of the 2022 Drone Photo Awards are here, and they're bound to leave you in awe - especially the two that show off dramatic storm clouds.

< p class="mol-para-with-font">Thousands of aerial images were submitted to the competition this year by more than 2,600 photographers from 116 countries around the world.

As well as documenting spectacular storms, scenes captured by the winning films include a crocodile feasting on a dead hippopotamus in Zambia, a pair of polar bears playing together in the Arctic and a huge iron ore train crossing the Sahara desert.< /p>

At the top of the podium, however, is an extraordinary image of a volcanic eruption in Iceland, captured by French photographer Armand Sarlangue.

The award-winning and acclaimed images will be featured at the "Above Us" exhibition Only Sky" at the Natural History Museum in Siena, Italy, from October 1 to November 20, as part of the Siena Awards festival dedicated to the visual arts.
