Building the metaverse is an ongoing process. Sébastien Borget, co-founder of the metaverse The Sandbox, even described the future of the metaverse as evolving.

Speaking to Cointelegraph's Gareth Jenkinson at the Web Summit technology conference in Portugal on Nov. 3, Borget said what we see in The Sandbox today is "the natural evolution of things" after nearly a decade of work. The evolution of the metaverse, especially the way brands interact with users, has accelerated at high speed.

It is this rapid development that is prompting investors to pour billions of dollars into metaverse projects across space.
