Three-quarters of voters are worried about violent crime, a poll reveals today after a wave of shocking murders and assaults.

An exclusive Deltapoll investigation for the Mirror shows the extent of public fear of violence in the streets.

Seventy-five per cent of those polled believe ministers should do more to tackle the dangerous scourge that is ravaging Britain's neighbourhoods.

This comes just days after the horrific murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel, who was shot dead in her home by a masked gunman.

And seven people were stabbed at the Notting Hill Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday.

A 21-year-old victim, rapper Takayo Nembhard, known as TKorStretch, has died.
