Tiffany Haddish child sex abuse lawsuit dismissed at plaintiff's request

UPDATE: Child sex abuse lawsuit filed against Tiffany Haddish and comedian Aries Spears was rejected. The plaintiff requested that a judge dismiss the case with prejudice, which means the lawsuit cannot be brought again, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The Jane Doe who requested the removal released a statement about it: "My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years - and now we know that she would never hurt me or my brother or help anyone do anything that could harm us We wish Tiffany the best and are glad we can all put this behind us."

Before that, Tiffany Haddish spoke out in response to the child sex abuse lawsuit that had been filed against her and Spears.

"I know people have a lot of questions. I get it. I'm right here with you" , Haddish wrote on Reuters. "Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there is very little I can say at this time. But, clearly, while this skit was meant to be comedic, it wasn't funny at all – and I deeply regret agreeing to do it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as possible."

Filed by an anonymous woman, the lawsuit alleged that Haddish and Spears exploited Jane Doe, today 22-year-old, and her brother John Doe, now 14, in two comedy sketches filmed as children.

In a clip titled "Through a Pedophile's Eyes", Spears' character plays covetous pedophile John Doe , who was 7 at the time, according to the lawsuit. Haddish plays the boy's mother, who leaves her child with the man. According to , "John [Doe] spends most of the video wearing only his underwear as Spears' character ogles him through two holes cut from a newspaper he pretends to read. During the skit, the camera zooms in suggestively on the 7-year-old boy's buttocks and crotch as he plays. Spears sprays baby oil on the child's back and massages it into his shoulders in one scene, and to another moment, the child is playing with a train in a way that suggests phallic masturbation. In another sequence, Spears smokes a cigarette while observing the naked child in a bathtub and pours water on his feet. "

The video ends with text that reads: "Look who you leave your kids with ." Funny or Die, where Spears originally uploaded the video, deleted the clip in 2018 and told The Daily Beast it was "absolutely disgusting".

Haddish's attorney, Andrew Brettler, said in a statement that the plaintiff's mother, Trizah Morris, had "tried to assert these false allegations against Ms. Haddish for several years."

Brettler continued, "All the attorneys who initially took on his case - and there are had several - ultimately dropped the case once it became clear the claims were without merit and Ms Haddish would not be moved. Now Ms Morris has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. Together they will face the consequences of continuing this frivolous action.”
