The Conservative Party will be 'destroyed' in the next election if it pursues a so-called Swiss-style Brexit, says Nigel Farage.

The l ex-leader of the Ukip and Brexit party said the 'Remainders' had regained control of the Conservative Party and that 'Brexit has already been betrayed to some extent'.

Mr. Farage responded to reports over the weekend that some in government want to bring the UK closer to the EU orbit and build a relationship akin to that enjoyed by Switzerland.

Asked about the story on the right-wing GB News, Mr Farage said: what happened in 2019. We're going through the same process again, because that's what it was all about in Mrs. May's deal with Checkers. It was Brino, it was Brexit in Name Only.

"If you don't have the guts to free things up and look to a bigger world, deregulate, and you could all might as well stick with the club.

"The problem with the Conservative Party is this: While I understand the logic of that argument, there are still a large number of people who voted for something , open and free democracy and who want to see it happen.

"And I remind you that in 2019 we did not leave the European Union on March 29 as promised, the Brexit Party came back and crushed the Conservative Party in their worst election result national in 200 years.< /p>

"What I'm saying is if they want to relive that level of betrayal they will be destroyed in the next general election in a way they can't begin to consider."

< p>Mr Farage is chairman of the Reform UK party, the renowned successor to his Brexit Party which won the 2019 European Parliament elections.

But the party has had little success at the polls or elections, with only a handful of local elected officials in its ranks and no representation at other levels of government.

The party regularly garners less than 5% of the vote and does not did not seem to have benefited much from the collapse in support for the Tories.
